The term has been popularized by comedian Kathy Griffin, who stated that it is the wrong behavior to be forced into sexual slavery; the fact that this is a girl who masturbates while on the cover of the magazine seems to be a significant departure from American contemporary sexual culture. In a video posted on YouTube late last year, the American Humanist Association denounced masturbation in a statement, stating that: The practice of masturbation is disgusting and in many cases completely incompatible with morality as well as morality itself. It is highly inappropriate and harmful for any one in the community to have and perpetuate this kind of behavior, which is a common denominator in everyday life. For instance, many of us have been exposed as masturbators through sex with other men who are friends from high school. We are even seen doing so with our boyfriends and boyfriends of course. There are so many dangers in our activities and in our lives in general that it only becomes even more dangerous when the rest of us decide we need to stop.
